The kit includes two converters. The 1 port active twisted-pair transmitter attaches to the video output of the security Camera, and the 2 port active twisted-pair receiver connects to the video input on the Digital Video Recorder (DVR) or video recorder. A Cat 5 cable or any twisted two pair copper cable is attached between the two units allowing transmission distance up to 5000' (1500m).
